Fall in Love With Fall Festivals
The cooler weather has finally arrived, and that means it’s time for a fresh new season full of exciting activities. Fall festivals are ideal for celebrating this change with family or friends – whether they be local events, cultural celebrations or simply something to look forward to each weekend.
This season, there are plenty of enjoyable events to attend – and many are free! From classic fall festivals to modern Halloween celebrations, there’s something for everyone!
Food and Drink Festivals
If you’re a foodie, now is the perfect time to indulge. There are tons of wonderful fall festivals across America that will have you munching on delectable treats while taking in some rays. From Oktoberfests to wine festivals, there are plenty of options this year that will keep you satisfied and busy.
Oktoberfests with beer-centric offerings may be the most popular, but craft spirits festivals also take place during this time of year. Breckenridge, Colorado hosts the Still on the Hill Craft Spirits Festival each October and it provides an excellent chance to sample various boozes. The event includes a Grand Tasting as well as other activities like scavenger hunts, mixology workshops, haunted houses and bloody Mary brunches – plus much more!
Jack O’ Lantern Blaze and Pumpkin Show
One of Upstate New York’s most captivating fall festivals is the Great Jack O’ Lantern Blaze, featuring 7,500 hand-carved jack o’ lanterns in Upstate New York. This event attracts an adoring audience every year to witness this magnificent display.
It’s easy to see why this event is so beloved: not only do the pumpkin carvings look spectacular, but the Great Jack O’ Lantern Society runs it and donates all profits to local nonprofits. With two locations – Van Cortlandt Manor and Old Bethpage Village Restoration – if you can’t make it up the Hudson Valley way, head over to Long Island instead and witness this show in action!
Comedic Fests
If you’re in search of some laughs, the New York City comedy scene is the perfect destination. This festival features some of the biggest names in comedy such as Conan O’Brien, Jenny Slate, Wanda Sykes and Tracy Morgan so no matter your mood is sure to find a show that fits.
There are also plenty of smaller comedy events in and around the city, allowing you to catch some of your favorites. Check out more intimate shows like stand-up, sketches and even a silent disco!
Halloween and Sea Witch Festivals
Looking for something different than traditional pumpkin carving contests? Check out this family-friendly fall festival on the coast in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. The event features a parade, trick-or-treating, and other spooky activities as well as exhibits and entertainment suitable for all ages.
